Some reasons to visit Ibiza's beaches and coves

Best beaches in Ibiza to visit by motorbike

Here is my personal selection of the best beaches in Ibiza to visit by motorbike, based on my own experience and the information I have found from different sources. I hope it serves as inspiration and that you enjoy your trip to the white island:

Cala Es Portitxol: This cove is one of the most secret and isolated in Ibiza. It is located in the north of the island, near the village of Sant Miquel de Balansat. To get there, you have to take a dirt road that branches off from the main road and follow the signs to the end. The last stretch is done on foot along a path that borders the coast and offers spectacular views. The cove is a small circular bay with white sand and turquoise waters, surrounded by rocks and vegetation. It is a perfect place to disconnect from the world and enjoy nature.

Cala Salada and Saladeta: These two coves are located on the west side of the island, near Sant Antoni de Portmany. They are two adjoining beaches separated by a rocky headland, with fine sand and transparent waters. They are very popular among locals and tourists, so it is advisable to arrive early to find a spot. They have a lively and festive atmosphere and offer several services such as umbrellas, sun loungers, a beach bar, and a restaurant. They are ideal for spending the day with family or friends, swimming in the sea, or jumping off the rocks.

Playas de Comte and Cala Escondida: These two beaches are located on the west side of the island, near the village of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. They are two spacious and open beaches with white sand and crystal clear waters of various shades of blue. They have impressive views of the islet des Bosc and the sea horizon. They are very popular among sun and sea lovers, and also among nudists, especially at Cala Escondida.

It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Ibiza, located in the southwest of the island, facing the impressive islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell. This small cove with coarse sand and crystal clear waters offers unparalleled views and a peaceful and natural atmosphere. Cala d’Hort is part of the Natural Park of Cala d’Hort, Cap Llentrisca, and Sa Talaia, a protected area for its ecological and scenic richness. In addition, this beach has two restaurants where you can taste the typical cuisine of the island, such as bullit de peix or paella. If you want to enjoy a day of sun and sea in a magical environment, do not hesitate to visit Cala d’Hort, one of the jewels of Ibiza.

Cala Bassa is located in the west of Ibiza, about 15 kilometers from San Antonio and about 25 kilometers from Ibiza town. It is a wide and comfortable beach, about 250 meters long and 30 meters wide. Its main attraction are its crystal clear and calm waters, which look like a large natural pool. The seabed is made up of sand and rocks, ideal for snorkeling and admiring underwater life.

If you prefer some shade and nature, you can take refuge in the pine forest that surrounds the cove, where you will find picnic tables and rest areas. You can also take a walk along the coastal path and discover other small nearby coves, such as Cala Conta or Cala Tarida.

Ses Salines Beach is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches in Ibiza, located in the south of the island, opposite Formentera. It is part of the Ses Salines Natural Park, where sea salt is extracted through an evaporation process. The beach has white and fine sand and crystal clear and turquoise water. It is a very crowded beach among tourists and celebrities, who seek to enjoy the sun, music and atmosphere. The beach offers various services such as umbrellas, sun loungers, restaurants and beach bars, as well as vendors selling fruit, sweets and clothing.

It is one of the most popular and lively areas of Ibiza. It is located south of the city of Ibiza and has a long white sandy beach surrounded by hotels, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Playa d’en Bossa is the ideal destination for party lovers, music, and sun. Here you can enjoy some of the best clubs on the island, such as Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, or Bora Bora, as well as water, sports and cultural activities. It is one of the most popular and beautiful beaches in Ibiza. It is located in the municipality of Santa Eularia des Riu, to the east of the island.
